Strengthening Maritime Safety and Connectivity: Danphone joins the EU-Caribbean Investment Mission 🇪🇺
Asger Milborg, has recently returned from an intensive 5-day maritime investment mission to the Caribbean (June 8-12, 2026), organized under the European Union's Global Gateway Investment Agenda.
It was a true honor for Danphone A/S to participate as part of such a prestigious "Team Europe" delegation. Traveling alongside leading maritime technology providers, CEOs, senior executives, and representatives from the European Investment Bank, Asger journeyed across Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, and Antigua and Barbuda. Being included in this assembly of industry experts underscores our shared commitment to driving sustainable infrastructure and technical excellence on a global scale. The mission’s clear objective was to facilitate and accelerate strategic investments, digitalization, and modernization within the region's maritime sector.
Throughout the week, Asger engaged in high-level business and policy dialogues with:
🔹 National Ministers of Transport, Infrastructure, and Trade.
🔹 Regional Port Authorities, including Barbados Port Inc., The Port Authority of Trinidad & Tobago, and the Antigua Port Authority.
🔹 Local maritime agencies, chambers of commerce, and EU Delegation officials.
Why Danphone? The core focus of the mission perfectly aligns with Danphone's DNA: Port modernization, digitalization, and maritime safety.
As coastal states look to transition away from aging infrastructure, Danphone is ready to support with next-generation, IP-based coastal radio and GMDSS software solutions. Furthermore, with our integrated VDES (VHF Data Exchange System) capabilities, we enable the high-speed digital traffic management and secure transmission of Maritime Safety Information (MSI) that the region actively seeks to deploy.
Tailored for the Future: Danphone Port Communication System To directly support these regional modernization efforts, we are proud to highlight the Danphone Port Communication System. Engineered as a highly scalable and customizable platform, it is designed to meet the unique operational demands of any maritime hub - from small local harbors to expansive, multi-terminal port authorities.
Its flexible architecture allows ports to seamlessly integrate and adapt communication channels, ensuring a future-proof infrastructure that can easily expand alongside regional trade and safety requirements.
A huge thank you to the EU Delegations, Ofiap, and all the local public and private stakeholders for hosting a highly productive week of B2B and B2G roundtables. We look forward to turning these dialogues into strong, sustainable partnerships that will elevate maritime safety in the Caribbean.
