2022 has been a hectic year  for Danphone.

While experiencing a restart of many sales cases after COVID-19 with visits and site surveys on-site, this year also also meant a continuation of the virtual meetings we started during the pandemic situation. 

5 new customers wanting a new or updated GMDSS solution in 2022 around the world, also meant a busy schedule in engineering, development and production.

The modular and flexible approach in solution design makes the upgrade to a new Danphone based solution seamless and easy. Having a hybrid system with a combination of new and old radios, and gradually upgrading operator work places and radio sites according to the customers own plan, means control and flexibility.

Futronic MKII GMDSS test box experienced increased demand after COVID-19 and an increased backlog in Ship Radio Surveys after travel restriction were lifted. Inquiries regarding testing second generation EPIRB AIS was suddenly an issue even though Futronic MKII has supported this for years in close co-operation with leading EPIRB manufacturers. The improved digital reporting released several new reports based on input from the Futronic User Community.

The SMM exhibition in Hamburg in September 2022 was a happy reunion with many customers and partners. We were present in the danish pavilion where we hosted meetings while meeting many of our partners around the exhibitions.

We look forward to the exhibition again 3-6 September 2024. 

Futhermore, the changes in the world political and defence agenda meant presence in the open for business days at The Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation. Ensuring maritime communication and safety has become top of mind and a high priority around the world. 

With increased activities and several new colleagues, we decided that it was time to find new premises. The hunt for the ideal location started end of 2021 and the requirement list grew longer and longer. In april 2022 the hunt was over and we signed a contract regarding Tagholm 16 in Nørresundby.

Close to the airport, the port, the university, the university college, we believe we have found the ideal location. This kicked off a 6 month construction phase to fulfil all requirements for a modern radio and software electronics engineering and production facility. We moved the 5th of October and a we love our new premises.
