The two new 1 kW NAVTEX transmitters recently delivered to Estonia have been successfully installed and commissioned at Suurupi west of Tallinn.
The transmitters operate in a main/standby configuration and are being remote-controlled via TCP/IP network from three operator workstations at the main control center. An additional workstation is installed at a backup center.
The Danphone NAVTEX system is server free. Messages are stored in the transmitters before being transmitted automatically at pre-selected times. This architecture ensures transmission of the messages even if the network is down.
With the new system for Estonia, the total number of NAVTEX installations supplied by Danphone reaches 42 NAVTEX transmitters worldwide.
